Oct. 20-22, 2017
This weekend Soul Feast held our annual retreat. As always, there was good food and good fellowship, even though we stayed a little bit closer to home to accommodate our new and soon-to-be parents. This year Dr. Kent Smith, Professor of Charis at Abilene Christian University, led a weekend full of new discoveries. A long-time advocate of house churches, Ken facilitated discussions on “Building Our Tribe,” “Using Gifts to Build our Community,” and taught us the Sociocratic method of governance. On Sunday, Kent led us in our first Sociocratic decision-making process, as we appointed a facilitator and administrator to organize a Scaffolding Group meeting.
